The WISDOM GPR aboard the ExoMars rover &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.esa.int\/Our_Activities\/Human_and_Robotic_Exploration\/Exploration\/ExoMars\/ESA_s_Mars_rover_has_a_name_Rosalind_Franklin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Rosalind<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> Franklin<\/span><\/a>&#8221; allows us to probe the Martian soil down to a depth of about three meters. The results of that investigation will help:<\/p><ol type=\"1\"><li lang=\"en-GB\" value=\"1\">to improve the understanding of geology, hydrology and climatic history of Mars<\/li><li lang=\"en-GB\">to find suitable places for the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.esa.int\/Science_Exploration\/Human_and_Robotic_Exploration\/Exploration\/ExoMars\/First_deep_drilling_success_for_ExoMars\">drill experiment<\/a><\/span><\/li><li lang=\"en-GB\">to better estimate possible hazards for future manned and unmanned missions.<\/li><\/ol><p>As every radar system, it consists of two parts: the electronics to generate and process the signal, as well as the antenna to transmit\u00a0the signal to and receive it from the subsurface:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section
